Sync Easy is a Shopify application developed and operated by Cobb Co LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how Sync Easy collects, uses, stores, and protects information when merchants install and use the Sync Easy application.

By installing or using Sync Easy, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information Sync Easy Accesses

Sync Easy accesses only the Shopify store information necessary to provide its catalog management, data cleanup, marketplace, pricing, distributor, and related merchant tools.

Depending on the features used, this may include information such as:

  • Shopify product information
  • Product titles and descriptions
  • SKUs and barcodes
  • Vendors
  • Product types
  • Tags
  • Collections and collection-related information
  • Product pricing and cost information
  • Product weights and other catalog attributes
  • Shopify store identification information necessary to associate application data with the correct merchant
  • Application installation and subscription status

Sync Easy currently requests Shopify permissions necessary for its supported functionality. Shopify controls and displays the permissions requested by the application during installation.

2. Files Uploaded by Merchants

Sync Easy allows merchants to voluntarily import files used for catalog management and marketplace workflows.

These may include:

  • Shopify product exports
  • Amazon listing reports
  • Amazon Listing Loader files
  • Distributor catalogs
  • Distributor invoices
  • Pricing files
  • Sync Easy backup/profile files
  • Other files intentionally provided by the merchant for use with a Sync Easy feature

The contents of these files may contain product, inventory, pricing, marketplace, supplier, or other business information.

Sync Easy uses this information only to provide the features requested by the merchant.

3. How Information Is Used

Information accessed or supplied through Sync Easy may be used to:

  • Analyze and organize Shopify catalog data
  • Identify catalog inconsistencies or missing information
  • Provide catalog-cleanup recommendations
  • Compare Shopify products with marketplace or distributor information
  • Calculate pricing and landed costs
  • Prepare merchant-requested import or export files
  • Save application settings and workspace information
  • Restore merchant-created backups
  • Verify application installation and subscription status
  • Maintain application security and reliability
  • Diagnose technical problems
  • Comply with applicable legal and Shopify platform requirements

Sync Easy does not sell merchant data or customer data.

Sync Easy does not use merchant catalog data for advertising or sell it to data brokers.

4. Customer Information

Sync Easy is primarily a merchant catalog-management application and is not designed to require customer personal information for its normal catalog-management functions.

The application is designed to minimize access to personal customer information and does not request protected customer data unless a future feature requires it and the appropriate Shopify permissions and disclosures are established.

If Shopify sends a mandatory privacy or data-deletion request to Sync Easy, the application processes that request in accordance with Shopify's requirements.

5. Data Storage

Sync Easy uses a combination of merchant browser storage and server-side application infrastructure to provide its functionality.

Depending on the feature being used, application information may be stored in:

  • The merchant's browser
  • Sync Easy application databases
  • Secure cloud infrastructure used to operate the application

Some imported catalog information, application preferences, profiles, subscription information, and workspace information may be retained so that merchants can continue their work between sessions.

Merchants should maintain copies of important source files and backups according to their own business requirements.

6. Third-Party Services

Sync Easy relies on third-party infrastructure and services necessary to operate the application.

These may include:

Shopify — for application installation, authentication, Shopify API access, application billing, and merchant-store integration.

Google Cloud — for application hosting, database services, storage, logging, and related infrastructure.

Merchants may also voluntarily provide files obtained from third-party marketplaces or distributors, such as Amazon or product suppliers. Providing such files to Sync Easy does not create an independent connection between Sync Easy and those services unless explicitly stated within the application.

Third-party services maintain their own privacy and security practices.

7. Shopify App Billing

Sync Easy may use Shopify's application-pricing and billing systems to determine whether a merchant has an active subscription.

Billing and payment information associated with Shopify App Pricing is managed by Shopify. Sync Easy does not require merchants to provide payment-card information directly to Sync Easy for Shopify application subscriptions.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Sync Easy retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the application, maintain merchant workspaces, meet security or operational requirements, and comply with applicable obligations.

When a merchant uninstalls Sync Easy, certain information may be retained temporarily when necessary to support restoration, troubleshooting, billing reconciliation, or other legitimate application functions.

Data may subsequently be deleted or anonymized according to Sync Easy's retention practices and applicable Shopify requirements.

Where available, merchants may also use Sync Easy's built-in data-management or purge features to remove application workspace information.

9. Shopify Privacy Requests

Sync Easy supports Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks and processes applicable requests concerning:

  • Customer data requests
  • Customer data deletion
  • Shop data deletion

Requests received through Shopify are handled according to Shopify's platform requirements and applicable law.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information processed by Sync Easy.

These measures include authenticated Shopify access, restricted application permissions, merchant-specific application data handling, secure cloud infrastructure, and protection of application credentials and secrets.

No electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Merchants should also protect access to their Shopify accounts, computers, exported files, and Sync Easy backups.

11. Data Sharing

We do not sell merchant or customer information.

Information may be disclosed to service providers only when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, or support Sync Easy.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, security, or integrity of Sync Easy, its users, Shopify, or others.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as Sync Easy develops, Shopify requirements change, or application functionality changes.

The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.

Material changes affecting how merchant information is handled will be reflected in the policy as appropriate.
